Following months of detailed research into the growing malware markets, G DATA has published it's Q2 2008 figures.
Zombie PCs:
What’s about Zombie PCs?
Are Germany and Italy still the capitals of Zombies world wide? No, not any longer. The analyses of G DATA Security Labs shows, that there is a new capital: number 1 - with the most captured PCs – was in the second Q of 2008 Turkey. Turkey – 12 % of all zombies world wide were based in Turkey.

1 Brazil 10,2%
2 Germany 9,3%
3 Italy 8,9%
4 Turkey 8,3 %
5 China 6,6 %
How many Zombies were daily active?
In average were in the Q2 2008 about 5 up to 10 million zombie PCs active.
What is about the world wide Spam level?
Spam is now really back – the Spam-level were in January only on a level of 60 percent. Since March is the percentage of spam rising (in March was it 80 percent), was in April 94 % and end of June about 87 percent.
What were the mayor topics of Spam?
Still number one is sexual enhacers with 30 %, pharmacy 22%, replicas21%, academic degrees 5 % and software 3 %.
