Personal Computer World Magazine from the UK published a Synology® Disk Station DS508 product review conducted by Alan Stevens in the business section of their October issue and bestowed the Business Recommended award upon Synology DS508. According to Stevens, Synology DS508 is "an impressive storage appliance with performance and capacity plus loads of built-in extras for the small business."

The product review article covered aspects of both Synology DS508's hardware design and its applications in which the small business can greatly benefit from. To begin with, the dual Gigabit ports, the five hot-swap disk bays, and the cross-platform file sharing for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux clients make the DS508 far above the average level of network attached storage appliances.
